Goal: Together with the rest of the Wisconsin Veterans Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors, the Board Director works closely with the President and Officers, Directors, committees, and volunteers, to perform duties as assigned by the President.
Duties and Responsibilities:
∙ Understand the role, responsibilities and liabilities of serving as Director on the Board.
∙ Prepare for and attend Board meeting.
∙ Serve on committee(s) and actively participate in the proceedings.
∙ Guide and participate in fundraising efforts of the Foundation.
∙ Share resources, talents, expertise, contacts and identify individuals to grow Foundation.
∙ Serve as an advocate of the Foundation to other constituent groups.
∙ Be accessible to the Board, committee members, and Foundation volunteers as needed.
∙ Contribute time to activities, special projects, and committee assignments, donor visits, etc.
∙ Fulfill commitments within the agreed-upon deadlines.
∙ Get to know other Board and committee members and build a collegial relationships.
∙ Hold in confidence any confidential information.
∙ Take initiative and provide leadership in moving the Foundation forward.
Qualifications:
∙ Knowledge of and commitment to the Veteran community, the Foundation’s Vision, Mission, Goals and objectives, programs, activities, etc.
∙ Specific experience and or knowledge in at least one management area or a field related to the Foundation’s Vision, Mission, Goals and objectives, programs, services, etc.
∙ Ability to work as an active member of a Veteran-centric team.
∙ Adequate time availability.
