The Wisconsin Veterans Foundation, Inc. continues to provide to Wisconsin veterans since its inception in 1999. As nonprofit, charitable organization the Wisconsin Veterans Foundation, Inc. provides direct assistance to Wisconsin veterans in addition to supporting other Wisconsin veteran initiatives...

  • Contributor to Wisconsin veteran projects in Southeastern Wisconsin
  • Provide support to Wisconsin veterans through statewide organizations and associations addressing veterans services
  • Host for professional development aimed at counselors and medical personnel providing identification and treatment of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

In late 2007, the Wisconsin Veterans Foundation, Inc. carefully reviewed its organizational structure, financial position, including fundraising strategies. With from the Nonprofit Management Fund serving the Greater Milwaukee area, in early 2008, the Wisconsin Veterans Foundation, Inc. conducted an internal review and guided self-assessment to determine the future of the organization.

By late Spring, 2008, the Wisconsin Veterans Foundation, Inc. was developed a plan of action which included internal changes, strengthening the Board of Directors and refocusing its funding sources. Additionally, the Wisconsin Veterans Foundation, Inc. carefully identified its vision and mission, governances and crafted five long-term organizational goals which support Wisconsin veterans by specifically

  • Assisting Wisconsin veterans and their families in accessing services designed and available to Wisconsin veterans through the Wisconsin and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Provide Wisconsin veterans immediate emotional and financial support while awaiting access to the Wisconsin and or U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs services
  • Fund an additional Veteran Service Officer to assist those Wisconsin veterans having difficulty accessing present services as well as those in need, but who are not being served due to the underlying issues associated with homelessness, substance abuse and other issues
  • Develop and implement a professional continuing education program for counselors, medical professionals and first responders on critical Conflict Era topics such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Traumatic Eye Injury (TEI) and others invisible injuries
  • Create a collaborative employment and training program Wisconsin veterans which will address employer needs on how-to assist the Wisconsin veteran transition from conflict to calm in the workplace, especially if the veteran has residual medical, emotional, retraining or adaptive employment needs
